Using Sordoe
Sordoe Intention Water is a ritual splash you use to call in what you want, for the day, the week, the month or the life you're building. The ritual takes a few minutes or less. Here's how.
First use
The first time you open your bottle, activate it.
- Find a quiet moment alone.
- Hold the bottle in both hands and breathe deeply.
- Turn it upside down three times.
- Say your words of intention seven times, aloud or silently.
If you'd like words to begin with:
"I call in my guides to bless and activate this water. May it serve my highest good and attune to my spirit. This water is mine, now and always."
Once activated, the water is yours alone. Keep it for your own practice.
The daily ritual
Every ritual has three parts: an opening, the work itself, and a close.
OpenStand at the mirror. Open the bottle and breathe it in. Decide what you're calling in today, and know the words you'll say. Keep them short. One word is enough. A sentence at most.
The ritualPour a little into your hand and apply it to your body, working upward from your feet to the top of your head. Say your intention out loud as you go. Seven times, softly.
CloseTap the top of your head three times and give thanks. The ritual is closed.
Seven is the number of finishing in the traditions this bath comes from.
In the morning, it sets the tone for your day. In the evening, it closes the day. Do it before something that matters: a meeting, a hard conversation, a beginning.
The way I do it
Three phrases, seven times each. The water goes on in the order below, and each round starts again at the count of one.
First phrase
- A splash in my hand. The sole of each foot: one, two.
- Another splash. Up each shin: three, four.
- Another. The front of each thigh: five, six.
- A little at the root of the body: seven.
Second phrase
- A splash. Four upward strokes across the belly: one to four.
- Another splash. The buttocks and the base of the spine: five, six, seven.
Third phrase
- A splash. Up each forearm: one, two.
- Another. Up each upper arm: three, four.
- Another. Up each side of the chest: five, six.
- A last splash. Up the neck and face to the top of the head: seven.
Then I close. Three taps on the crown, and I say: So mote it be. Thank you for your love towards me and my loved ones.
After 30 days, shape this ritual in your own way. What matters is a consistent moment of connection with yourself.
Make it yours
As you live with the water, you'll find your own ways to use it. A few that others have found:
- Before meditation, prayer or creative work, touch a few drops to your temples, your crown or your third eye.
- Before something that matters, such as a meeting, a hard conversation or a new beginning, anoint your wrists and speak what you're calling in.
- When you travel, bring it with you and keep your ritual wherever you are.
- Through the day, notice the scent on your skin and let it bring you back to the intention you set that morning.
- At home, keep it on your altar or beside your bath, so the ritual is always within reach.
These are only starting points. The most meaningful rituals are the ones you discover for yourself. Listen to what you need, and let the water guide you.
Care
For external use only. Avoid contact with eyes. If irritation occurs, discontinue use. Keep out of reach of children.
